I am finally sending in a long overdue update on our two RAGOM Golden boys

Our first RAGOM adoptee is Colt 05-06-309 (formerly known as Royal and also formerly known as Johnson.)

Colt loves everybody and other dogs too, especially puppies.  One of his very favorite things in life is going for a ride.  He gets to do that quite often as we take him with us to horse shows all across the upper Midwest and Canada.  He also likes to ride on our Polaris Ranger – that is his idea of “helping” with chores.  He doesn’t like to exert too much energy :0)

He has followed in “brother” Lego’s footsteps (RAGOM # 06-221) and has begun to go to agility classes and has recently started competing too.  He has earned his Novice title already! :0)  He is not going to break any speed records, but he sure loves the fun and attention of it.  It is good exercise for him too (he should be wearing a “Will Work for Food” sign as food is one of his other very favorite things in life.)  Toilet paper is also high on his favorite things list.  We have resorted to keeping that hidden away (interesting when company comes over.)  Oh well, a dog’s gotta have some bad habits, right?

Enjoy these video links of him running in agility.  Watch his tail – it doesn’t stop wagging :0)

I’ve attached a few photos too – some that include his RAGOM “brother” Lego.  (Note:  No dogs were harmed in the making of the “grizzly bears” photo – they are REALLY PLAYING – they are “all” boy!!)  As you can see, he is one big happy fellow.  I wish the people that returned him to RAGOM could see him now.  He was a challenge, but well worth it!

Typical golden morning on the horse ranch. Lego and Colt (Royal Johnson) are literally attached at the hip and love each other so much. Can you imagine a better life then getting up in the morning, running through the pastures, chasing birds, jumping into the river, and spending the day with your best bud. Not everyone gets to see what heaven is like...thankfully, they are giving us a peak.

Johnson is 6 months old and was surrendered because of an illness in the family. He's a typical young male: happy, playful, curious and very friendly! He came to us yesterday, and despite the chaos of 3 Goldens having the run of the house, it was non-eventful!!!

Johnson was very well mannered and got along with our two Goldens as well as the two kids. He seemed excited to have some furry playmates (that's Johnson in the middle of the pack) and enjoyed running with them in the back yard. He has been through obedience training and knows basic commands. He will need a little bit of reminder training on his leash. He tends to pull in order to satisfy his puppy curiosity.

Johnson is completely housebroken and has had no accidents. He slept in a kennel in the kitchen last night, and other than a few preliminary whines, settled down and slept through the night with a blanket and towel. We went to the vet yesterday for a quick checkup before coming home to meet the foster family and everything checked out perfect. Johnson is very healthy, with great teeth! We also made an appointment for a neuter next Tuesday, October 4. Johnson is a sweet, happy young man and will be ready to find his forever home next week!
