Chester Winston Brooks has been officially adopted!
It is with a heavy heart that I bring news that Brooks has moved on to a better place. He is greatly missed by all of us in this household. I know my big cuddly baby moose will carry his bright light with him. He left just enough of it here that I can still feel him next to me. He has left an indelible mark on my heart...
...and on the carpeting where he used to devour woobies and bones! Brooks, I hope you live a long and happy life at your new Forever Home! Lincoln Buddy (05-235) and I will sure miss you. Thanks, Little Moose, for all you did with LB. You were God's little helper. I'm sure this will get easier, but you're my first foster child to leave.
He could be the poster boy for all Golden Retrievers. Just a wonderful temperament and truly not a mean bone in his big body! Thanks to all of you in Placement who helped get him his forever home. And thanks to all the wonderful people who wanted to adopt him. You made this such a nice time for Brooks and me.
Brooks really liked the families that applied for him, but in the long-run, he chose to go with a woman who truly needs his companionship. I know Brooks can playfully fill the void in her life. Also, being a disabled single woman in her house leaves her feeling very vulnerable. Brooks wouldn't attack anyone (!) but he is big and has a great loud bark. He'll make a great scarecrow if she can teach him to raise his lips and fake a snarl.
Farewell, Sweet Prince. Parting is such sweet sorrow...
