Mick 06-275

Profile

6/25/06: Mick is a wonderful dog. If someone is looking for a large dog that is excellent with kids and other animals, then Mick is your guy. Even with his large size he is gentle around the kids and whines when they go outside without him. He never has an accident in the house. He loves to ride in the car. We took him to the vet this week for a checkup and besides him having to lose weight he is in good health. He does take medicine twice a day to control seizures but he is so good about it that it?s a piece of cake. I love him so much all ready and I hope we find him a wonderful home soon because it is awfully easy to fall in love with him. His only bad habit is he loves to get his nose in the garbage. He doesn?t dump it over and make a mess; he just likes to sample what?s on top. We are working on that!

Here are some pictures that I took of him this afternoon. It is difficult to take pictures of him because he wants to be next to you all the time.

How can you not love a dog that adopts an orphan kitten? Micky has continued to surprise me as to how gentle he can be with even the smallest of animals and people. He loves to be outside with the kids and stays right near them no matter what.

We live on a farm and we never have to worry about him running off or getting into trouble. We went to NY on vacation and Micky stayed with Suzie (thanks Suzie!), another foster Mom, and she said he had no trouble adjusting to a different home.

He continues to take medication for seizures but has had absolutely no problems. His medicine is $11 per month and he takes it so easily. I certainly do not consider this a handicap to him in any way since he runs and plays all day with my other dogs.

The perfect home for Micky would be one where he has other animals to play with and ideally some kids as well, although he would do great in a quiet home. I hope to find him a wonderful home soon - I am absolutely falling in love with him because he is such a terrific dog.
