Zoe 05-091

Profile

Zoe was dropped off at my house around 5 pm today so she's only been here an hour or so but here is my preliminary update. She is between 8 and 10 years old, has a beautiful dark red, wavy coat and has met my crew with no problems. She is of shorter build and is definitely on the tubby side. She obviously has had many litters of puppies. She is either from a puppy mill or was used as a breeder dog by a breeder of some sort as her belly is saggy and hangs low from having many litters of puppies. She is up to date on shots and has recently been spayed and microchipped. So far she has shadowed me everywhere...except when I go down the stairs...she will not follow. She did not eat dinner when my 2 guys ate nor did she eat when I gated her in the kitchen alone with just her food....a diet won't hurt her at all at this point. She was intimidated by my cat (but they all are, she's scary) and barked at the rabbit but has been ignoring everybody since the initial introductions. She has only pottied outside, honors babygates and went into a plastic crate for a few minutes with no fuss. So far it doesn't seem that her previous life was too bad as she is in love with people and seems fairly comfortable in the house on various flooring types. More updates will follow as we get to know her, but so far she seems like a sweety.

Updates

I haven't written an update for a couple of weeks because Zoe hasn't done anything that warrants writing about. She continues to be a love-bug. She is always within touching distance of a human (usually me) - she has given a whole new meaning to the word Velcro. She is happy, eats well, loves to check out the yard and is just generally a great dog. Occasionally she will really get into checking out the smells in the yard and goes behind the bushes...when she suddenly realizes she can't quite see me she comes running and greets me like her long lost best friend...very cute! She loves to chew on bones...she really gets into it! So far she's never chewed on anything inappropriate, never pottied in the house...she's just been perfect! In the morning on work days just before I get ready to leave she will vanish...she's already in her crate knowing that's where I'll be putting her. Other than when there's nobody home, she has access to the whole house...I only crate her at this point because she is really content in her crate. I can't say enough what a nice dog she is...I just can't figure out why nobody wants to adopt her.
