Gunner 05-167

Profile

6/15/05: This is Gunner. He is a 6 month old GR/Yellow Lab mix weighing 57 pounds; he may be part Lab, but he looks & acts Golden. He is fully housetrained. He is UTD on all his shots, and is scheduled to be neutered tomorrow morning. He was given to RAGOM by loving owners that had too many dogs, and since they've given us dogs before, they know that RAGOM will find Gunner the home he deserves. Gunner is a bit overwhelmed by the events today, and has not eaten or taken treats. He rode well in the car with his head on my arm most of the way. He was given free roam of his owner's property and never strayed. He knows a few simple commands like sit and shake, and usually sits down as soon as you call his name. He sleeps in his crate, and while it took me a bit of coaxing to get him in tonight when we left for a bit, once in he didn't make a peep; he just laid down quietly. If left alone, he will chew things like paper and shoes, but is easily redirected to puppy-acceptable toys. He is getting along famously with both of our dogs. He has been around dogs and cats, and gets along well with everyone. If all goes well tomorrow, Gunner should be ready to move to his forever home by mid next week. One sloppy puppy kiss and your heart will melt like butter! We'll try for some better pictures another day... Gunner would way rather give kisses than get his picture taken tonight!

We are very happy to have Gunner as part of our family! He has adapted to our life very easily. He is a very good dog and is loved by everyone in the neighborhood, too. We've had him less than 2 months now and it seems like he has been part of our life forever.

Gunner has had a great summer playing with the kids and going to all of their activities. He also loves to go swimming, riding on our family's pontoon boat and jumping off the dock to chase balls in the water. He is a GREAT dog! We feel very lucky to have him in our life. Our kids will be able to grow up with him and are learning how to work with him and teach him everyday how to be a good dog. He has made that part pretty easy.

Thanks to Cindy, Lindsay and Michelle for finding the perfect dog for our family!!!
