6/15/06: Kato is a beautiful blonde Golden boy found as a stray and is believed to be around 10-12 months old. I think he looks younger than that, so we will have to see what our vet determines. Kato seems to have been in a house before, listens well, walks on a leash with very little pulling, and loves to be around people. Kato is a bit thin. I think he probably only weighs about 40 pounds if that. Depending on his age, he may be a small Golden when full grown.

When I brought him home, he met our resident dog Gabby, and our other foster dog, Riley, and they all got along great. They have been running, chasing and playing for the last couple of hours. I brought them in, they ate their dinner, went out to go potty and now they are back in trying to settle down. It always takes a little while when a new dog comes into the household.

We will be going to the vet the first of the week to get all vaccinations done and have Kato get a good check up. I will send in more updates when we know Kato a little better.

Kato is a very tired boy tonight. He and Riley played so hard all day today. I got the kiddie pool out and they jumped in and out of the pool, played chase with the Kong, even tried playing tug o' war with the Kong, which is rather difficult to do. The picture I took today is Kato trying to make a fast getaway with the Kong. He is a pretty quick boy, but Riley was right behind him. Those boys sure had fun dodging and darting around the yard at top speed.

Kato is a super dog. So far we have had no accidents in the house. He is much more settled in today. All the dogs have gotten along great. Kato loves to follow you around and if you are staying in one spot for long, he will lay right next to you. He takes treats very gently, and instead of gobbling them down, he takes them and chews them into small pieces before he swallows.

If you are looking for a young Golden that has a super personality, Kato is your guy. He will need some obedience training as all young dogs do, but Kato listens very well and it won't take long for him to learn all he needs to know.

I have a vet appointment on Monday for him so he can have his check up and vaccinations. If all is well, we can get his neuter scheduled and he will be ready to go. Please let RAGOM now if you are looking for a great guy to join your family.
