Brook 05-073

Profile

Hi, everyone! My name is Brook, and I'm 2 years old. You're probably asking yourselves what a beauty like me is doing looking for a new home. Well, that's mostly my fault. About a month ago, I was adopted from the Humane Society by a wonderful lady. But once I moved into her home, I wasn't very nice to her cat and was way too much for her other dog, who had been hurt a few years back and wasn't as playful and energetic as I am. Before that I was a stray, & I'm not sure where I came from. So now I'm looking for a new home again. My dream is to find a home with no cats and a young energetic canine companion to play with. I am a pretty light red color with white feathers on my legs, about 85 pounds, already totally housebroken, good with kids, I don't chew on things I'm not supposed to, and I love to play. I will be going to the doctor for a quick check-up on Wednesday, then I'll be waiting by the door with my box of goodies!! Please email placementatragom [dot] org if you'd like to adopt me!!

Brook checking in here. Guess what happened this weekend??? Did you figure it out??? It's so exciting that I just have to tell you - I got adopted yesterday!!!! How exciting is that??? I now have a new mom and dad and two girls to love me (what's not to love), a new German Shepard brother whose name is Hero (another four-legged playmate who also really likes to PLAY), and four cats (hmmm… have to work on being nice to them).

I even have jobs to do, yes - not one job but lots of jobs to keep me busy - I'm a working girl! My new mom is going to train me to be a search and rescue dog - check me out in my new search and rescue training vest. I get to go to work with my mom as part of my training to expose me to all the different world experiences. I also have been told that I will get to be in agility - not sure what that is all about but it sounds fun. I even get to go to schools with my mom and my brother Hero to talk about search and rescue, though I am just learning too. I can go to work with my dad if I want to or hang out with the girls when they get home from school. Am I going to be busy or what?

See you all at the picnic - I'll be there with my new family! Brook

Hi everyone! Did you have a fun weekend? I played and played and played on Saturday! I even wanted to play at 9:00 at night but mom said no.

Sunday mom and I went to the Petco event up in Apple Valley. Guess what??? I met a family there who is interested in me and training me in search and rescue! How cool is that. Now I just have to wait for them to be approved to adopt me, let's keep our paws crossed. I slept the entire way home from Apple Valley and was ready to PLAY when I got home. I got to play for a bit but then my brother hurt his paw and since it was bleeding mom put a stop to the playing - he's such a wimp!

Talk to you all later… Brook

Hi everyone - Brook here again. A funny thing happened to me over the last weekend - my energy reserves ran out! Saturday night after playing I came in and crashed. I didn't even want to get up to take a drink, so I ended up laying in front of the water bucket and drinking - see the picture of me drinking. But don't worry, I am building up that energy again and am ready to play!

I went over to visit another foster home yesterday, mom needed some help getting the gentle leader fitted on me because I am such a wiggly, silly girl. I met Lizzie 05-136 and boy for a senior dog did she put me in my place! We are friends now, but I can't play rough with her or else!

Lizzie's mom and my mom were talking about me (I hate it when people talk about you while you are in the room) and they seem to think I need a job. They talked about maybe looking into fly ball for me, that got me interested. Anything with a ball that I can chase and catch sounds good to me.

More later. Brook

Hi, Miss Brook here. Well, my energy level did it again. I am back in foster care. Not that it was any fault of my own, I just need someone who can help me burn off all my energy. I may be two and a half years old, but I absolutely LOVE to play! Sometimes I like to play rough with my foster siblings but that seems OK. I have already taught them that they can sit in their swimming pool - silly pups were just wading - you have to lay in it to get the whole effect!

I am looking for a family who will play with me but also teach me. I am easily teachable - I'm already sitting for my food. I like to play with kids but little kids might not be the best because I am so active....don't want to knock them down. A fenced in yard would be good because I love to run. No cats allowed in my forever home, they are too fun to chase and besides, who wants to share attention with them! Other dogs would be all right, but only if they like to play hard. Oh yeah, I do jump a lot (I heard my mom say she has another dog born with Mexican jumping beans), so we are working on that, too.

If there is a family out there who can help me learn the finer points of being a dog and still let me PLAY, then I have lots of love to share with you. Just email Placementatragom [dot] org and let them know you're the one.

Until later, Brook

Hi! Well, I've been at my foster home for a few days now, and I'm finally feeling settled in! One of the dogs here doesn't care much for me, but that's just because she's old and doesn't like to play as much as I do (and, of course, she's jealous of how cute I am!!). I went to the doc today and got a clean bill of health and a microchip - ouch! I weighed in at a svelte 73 pounds, which totally fooled my mom... she thought I was at least 10 pounds heavier because of my thick, beautiful coat! I'm already to be adopted now, so please send an email to placementatragom [dot] org today... I'm gonna go fast!!
