Hey everyone, Shelby here – mom put this stupid red collar on me (see picture below)– I think I look like a clown, she says I look cute. She then proceeds to tell me that Aunt Cindy (another RAGOM volunteer who visits me) bought me a glitter foo foo thing for the picnic. What do they want me to do, scare away people?

I am getting so brave now – I fight the Newfoundlands for everything and of course I WIN. I have them both suckered. They say I am shy, but not around dogs - I know when to fight for what I want. When Grandma Coal growls at me, I back off, but I know I can go attack again in a little bit and she tolerates me. Mistee, however, loves to bow down to my antics.

Foster mom and dad said we have to go for a car ride tomorrow – I hate those things – I cry the whole time so someone feels sorry for me and holds me tight. I like that! Then we are going to a picnic for RAGOM. I guess I am part of RAGOM and that makes me very special. I bet you wish you could be as special as me and get to go to the picnic. Oh wait, you can....come to the picnic and visit me! How fun would that be?

Well, here are more pictures of me, just in case you would like to possibly adopt me. I love going outside to potty in the hay. But if you leave blankets on the floor in the house, I may use that for my hay, so keep those up for the time being. I sleep like a rock – yes, with foster mom and dad and I just love to be loved! So send placementatragom [dot] org a note and let's meet – or come to the picnic tomorrow!

Well our little Ms. Shelby has overcome her fear of blond floors. That was fast, all it took was Mistee Bubbles running down the hall and her chasing. She stopped and cried we went to her and gave her a treat and told her she was a good girl, brought another treat to the dark wood floor and she walked back over – good job Shelby!

Her best buddy however left the house. Chips foster mom could not wait any longer to get her hands on the little guy so she came last night. Broke my heart along with a few others around here. Shelby was pretty sad last night until she realized she got to sleep in the big bed, yep I admit it, she sleeps in the bed, what a great sleeper. She did not wake up once and I made her get up at 5:30, I think she thought that was a crazy hour to get up.

When you pick Ms. Shelby up she just cuddles right in, she is no longer shy around us but she is a little scared at first around others. I hope the picnic will help that. I promised her that someone would be with her at all times. Plus Big brother Chip will be there too.

So, what is there not to love about this little girl, are you ready to meet her, please give placementatragom [dot] org a shout and lets see if you are the match she is looking for.

See you at the picnic – I get Chipotle!!!!

Shelby is making progress, she won’t run and hide quite as fast as before but she still will scurry away if there is a loud noise. Heaven forbid the Newfs bark, which sends her into a tail spin. She is also scared of the Blond hardwood floors but we are making real progress. Today she actually went down the hallway a few steps as I kept scooting back. So by the weekend I hope to have the fear squashed.

Shelby has been going to the sliding glass door to go potty too – as long as the door is open she will head right out to the hay to potty – however she does not wait long at the door if you miss her little scratch. I think she will be a breeze to potty train. She sleeps all night without as much as a peep.

Shelby is going to come to the picnic – thank you RAGOM – she will not be interacting with any other dogs though. She will have to stay in a playpen or a dog pen while we are there. But Shelby really needs the interaction with people; she is so timid and shy. So please come out and give her a big hello and let her hold on tight to you for a while.

I know you will just fall in love with her, if you could only see her soulful eyes. They are this blue green color – incredible.

Please come and visit us! If you would like to meet him, please send a note to placementatragom [dot] org.

What a difference a day makes for our sweet, innocent Shelby. She woke up out of bed at 5:15, was not really ready but I thought why not get the day started in the right direction and have some alone time with her. She went out and than came in to eat a great big breakfast, making up for lost time I think.

She played with Mistee bubbles for a while and just soaked up all the attention she could get. She is still pretty shy and wants you down to her level before she will walk up to you, but we will keep introducing her to new people and new things and this will be less and less each day.

Shelby has the most beautiful fur, she is a true dirty blond and a little thing, Shelby weighed in at 11.5 pounds she got her micro chip and puppy shots today. She was very brave through the whole thing – NOT. Actually she cried the entire time unless you were holding her and speaking to her softly. She is such a whiner and I love it! She does have round worms so we are treating that.

Shelby hates the blond wood floor – I am not sure why, but she thinks it will suck her up or something – she gets on it and just freezes and cries. So we are also going to work on that little hang up. She has no trouble with the dark wood floor, just the blond.

Now I am sure you are dieing to meet this precious little button, because I know how cute she is, the pictures do NOT do her justice. Please write to placementatragom [dot] org and we can set up a play date.
