Dancer is one of four puppies that were rescued from a Minnesota puppy mill. They were rejected by the puppy mill's broker - for reasons such as being too small or having only three toes on one foot :( A broker is the person who buys the mill puppies and in turn sells them to pet stores, usually when they're only 5 or 6 weeks old.
