King 05-090

Profile

King is a 9-year-old neutered male. King has traveled from South Dakota to a Minnesota foster home. He is a Big 9-year-old male Golden Retriever who has spent his whole life at a Puppy Mill. He was surrendered when he could no longer produce puppies. He is ready for the Golden life and looking for a family that will give him attention and love. King has all his shots and has been looked over by the vet and is in great shape

We have just started to get to know King and already we know that he will follow you everywhere you go. He never wants to be left alone. We have two playmates for King but he is not interested in them at all. He would much rather be sitting on the human laps, licking us and getting love.

We are starting to work on him learning his name because at this point, he does nothing when you call him, so for the time being we are keeping him on a leash when we head outside in the yard. So far potty training has not been an issue - we will see how the next few days go with that.

King is looking for a forever home that will give him lots of love because he has lots to give. Please contact RAGOM if you are interested in meeting King - he will make a wonderful addition to any family.

King here, Foster Mom has included a couple new pictures of me in my favorite position – sleeping under her work desk!

This boy is ready for his forever home. He is so low maintenance he would be a real treasure to most any family. With his age comes an intense sweetness. Wouldn't you like some of that love he is so willing to hand out?

King's week has been filled with lying around the house and getting lots of love from all of us. He is a most laid back, friendly dog. He would love to go to his forever home and make someone very happy. He loves to go for walks and just hang out at your feet. He does have an issue if let outside without a leash or fenced area. He bolts, I am not sure where he thinks he is going to go, but he does run. He is getting better at his name and now realizes that it is his name, but still will not always come.

His manners are great, if you walk in the house he needs to see everyone and make sure they pet him and then he will leave you alone, but he must make his presence known first. I have never heard him bark and he “Loves” our Newfoundland’s. They are constantly kissing one another! They are all three best of friends, but the Newfs understand he needs a home to call his own.

I know King would make a perfect addition to your family, email placementatragom [dot] org and let’s meet!

I have included a picture of King to show how much fun he is having while he stays with us. However, he would really like to go to his new forever home soon.

King has just started eating wet dog food and we are adding just a little bit of dry each day. He is potty trained and has never had an accident in our home. He goes to the door when he wants out. He sleeps throughout the night right beside me and will not leave until I wake up.

King loves to please his foster mom and dad and will stay underfoot at all times. Finally today he has actually let me get up and move close by without getting up so I think it is only time until he knows that he won’t be left behind. King does not know how to play. In fact he really would rather stay inside where he feels safe. He loves to sleep under my desk while I work. He does feel comfortable in small places. One thing that I think is important, if he is outside, he needs to be on a leash or in a fenced area. The one time he got out, he was not sure what to do and it took us a while to convince him it was okay and he should come back to the house.

King will do great with older kids or just adults. For other dogs he has my two Newfoundlands to play with, but he would rather not. There really have been no fights between them, but they really leave him alone. I have heard King Growl at them.

If you would like to meet King, just let RAGOM know, you will be getting a wonderful dog!
