Clifford 06-205

Profile

5/7/06: I am proud to announce that Mr. Clifford has made it to Apple Valley along with his 4 other brothers. Clifford is a little over 6 weeks old and will be ready to go to his forever home over Memorial Day weekend. However, he would LOVE to start meeting potential homes right away.

What we know about Clifford is limited. We were told both parents are purebred Goldens, but the litter was unplanned and they don't want the puppies. Therefore, he was turned over to a shelter on Saturday afternoon, he was processed and then given to RAGOM since he is so young and needed a lot of love and a germ free environment to get him through the trauma of being taken away from mom so early. So RAGOM did not allow Clifford or his brothers to stay any longer than they had to! The next stop would be to Aunt Steffanie?s house ? she was good enough to keep them Saturday night so my family could take a much needed night off from all dogs, we did not even bring the Newfoundland?s on our overnight excursion.

Of course by the time Sunday morning hit, Lindsey and I could hardly wait to get our hands on the furrbutt boys so we left the Rick?s (hubby and son) to do some more dirt bike riding and packing up the cabin. We met Aunt Steffanie and started home for the meet and great ? The Newf?s were wondering what I had done this time!

Now about Clifford....he weighs about 7 pounds, is red in color and we have no idea about his personality yet. But I am sure you will get daily updates along with pictures, so you can get a better idea what Clifford is all about. Clifford has a bad case of worms and fleas, but both are being taken care of as of today!

If you are at all interested in meeting this wonderful little boy and have been approved please send an email to placementatragom [dot] org. If you are not approved ? send in an application so we can get this little boy into your home in a couple of weeks.

Clifford went back to the vet yesterday because he has two spots that became infected from the flea bites. Nothing to worry about, the vet actually put everyone on an antibiotic because of the itching from the bites. It seems the fleas were a little worse than we thought. So now he is well on his way. In fact this morning he seems to feel better than ever and wants to play with everyone.

Clifford still lets you know when he has to go out by crying and carrying on at the door. He is such a good boy. The vet said he weighed 11 pounds 4 ounces. What a pig!

Well, we all worried about nothing for Clifford. His leg is just fine, a little funny shaped for the time being, but the doctor poked and prodded and never a peep out of him. He feels that in time it will just straighten, he has seen this MANY times. He asked, does Clifford seem to be in pain, does he run, jump and do all the normal puppy things? My answer was, no pain, and yes - twice as much as everyone else! So there you have it - we are good to go and of course as handsome as ever. You will not believe this boy, everyone here at RAGOM wants him. Really, his pictures are nothing compared to his cuteness in person. So contact RAGOM quickly if you want him, he will not last.

Clifford did very well last night when he was de-wormed for three different types of worms, received his first set of shots and was micro chipped. He even slept better last night, so I am hoping tonight – everyone will sleep better. Oh yeah, the important part – Clifford weighed in at 10.8 – I tell you I thought he was going to be heavier than all the rest, he just has a beautiful thick red coat!

So don’t delay, he is going quickly. If you are looking to have the most beautiful red dog in your home, and are approved please send an email to placementatragom [dot] org. If you are not approved – send in an application so we can get this little boy into your home in a couple of weeks.

Clifford the big red dog, is a little harder to write about today and I will tell you why as long as you promise not to tell him until after he sees the vet tomorrow. Clifford is the most gentle of all 5 brothers. He wants to be held and he puts his nose right under your chin. However, I think he has something wrong with his right leg, it just is not right. It does not slow him down in the least, but it just does not look right.

Clifford has the cutest nose and the biggest eyes you have seen and when he looks at you, you just melt. Last night around 2 o’clock I heard this crying from the play pen and came out and let the pups out – everyone went right back to sleep but Cliff. He felt he should sleep on the couch with me for a while. Yep, already into bad habits, but we are not letting him run the show during the day, I promise. But those big eyes of his just get me and then knowing he may have been hurt and no one helped him just tugs at my heart! So Cliff goes to the vet tomorrow and I am sure in the next day or so we will be getting x-rays to see what is going on with that front leg. I think we have the fleas under control but the itching will keep everyone active for a while.
