Luke is a purebred male Golden Retriever who came from a commercial breeder in Missouri. He is a very sweet dog whose tail never stops wagging.He is approximately 1.5 years old, weighs 65 lbs., is heartworm negative and is a very dark red color. Luke is not house trained as he was previously an outdoor dog, however, he has not had any accidents in his foster home. His surrendering owner said he likes to roam so a physical fence is required. He is not crate trained, but we have begun working with him on this. Luke is getting neutered and will not be available until after he has fully recovered from surgery.

Luke has been adopted by a family who will provide him with many exciting new experiences and a very loving home. He will have a furry brother, Apollo, to play with and he is already in love with his new parents and new brother and sister. Luke will get to go camping, walking along nature trails and will enjoy life to the fullest!
Luke checking in to let you all know what I have been up to. I have survived a surgery that my vet referred to as a neuter. I had to have four skin stitches though, so my recovery is taking a little bit longer than some of the other guys. My stitches and this beautiful decoration I have to wear on my head will all be removed in a couple days. Ya know what though? I'm still a good looking fella!
I tested positive for ehrlichia because a nasty tick thought he needed to bite me so I have to take medicine for awhile. I really like the pills hidden in a slice of cheese.
My foster mom is working on teaching me how to sit. She says I'm a quick learner and I'm getting really good at sitting after hearing her command.
She is also teaching me how to go for walks without me pulling her along while we are walking. I wear a harness and I am learning to enjoy the walks.
I love playing with my foster sister and she is showing me the ropes of how to be a good dog. Time to go play with her now so I will catch ya all later!
