Hi RAGOM land. My name is Maxx! The two "x's" stand for xtra, xtra good dog! People tell me I look like the Bush's Baked Beans dog, Duke. Maybe, but I am up for adoption and I promise not to share your baked beans recipe, EVER!
Anyway, my original family needs to move into housing that will not allow dogs and decided to have RAGOM help me find an xtra, xtra good home. I am 7 years old, weigh about 70 pounds (which the vet says is ideal for me!) and I have the best house manners anyone could ever ask for in a Golden Retriever. Foster mom says she wants to keep me, but with all of the trips she is planning in the next two years, it would just not be fair to have me need to go to boarding so much.
I LOVE everything that you love! Playing Fetch, going for walks, riding in the car, treats, kids (2 and up), hanging out with you, being petted. Foster mom says I act like I have lived in her house my whole life! Not sure about cats. We can find out if need be!

OK, here is some stuff I can't control and will need your help with if you decide you like me enough to adopt me. I have itchy seasonal allergy skin. I take Benadryl and Medrol for this. I also have a history of seizures, and have had one about every 6-8 months or so. I take phenobarbital twice a day for this. I LOVE to take my meds! Just a tiny bit of lunch meat, or bread with peanut butter and I eat the pills right up! So, you can see that I will need a little bit of extra love because of these medical conditions that I have.
Here are some things that Foster Mom loves about me: I walk GReat on the martingale collar, I have excellent recall, I am very responsive to her and try xtra, xtra hard to figure out exactly what she wants me to do at all times, I NEVER go potty in the house, I ride very well in the car, I rarely bark (only a little to let her know if someone is coming to the house - she likes that!), I do not get on furniture, I do not jump on people, I have free-roam of the house, I destroy nothing and do not get into anything inappropriate, I know basic obedience like stay, sit, wait, heel, and come. Dogs just don't behave any better than me!

If you think Maxx would be a good fit in your home, please submit an "Inquiry for Application" form. If you have already filled out an "Inquiry for Application" form, please send an email to application

Love, your possible dream dog Maxx.
