Sabrina has been adopted and is now known as Bitsy, nickname Bee! She has been adopted by a retired special ed teacher with lots of patience to help Bee continue her transition from living in a breeding facility to living in a loving home.

She will have an older dog sister to show her the ropes and human adult siblings who will visit often. We are so happy for this special little girl and her new wonderful family!

Sabrina (we call her Brave Betsy) came in with Buffy (18-200) and Freddy (18-199) and they are supposedly siblings (born on May 8, 2018) but we think Freddy is not a sibling. The two girls are almost identical in appearance. We had to put on two different colored collars in order to tell them apart. Personality wise, the girls are very different.

Sabrina (Betsy) was very shy and timid when she first came to us. She is the braver of the two girls (thus the name!). She quickly learned to enjoy being petted. She loves all kinds of toys and is extremely protective of whichever one she has. She is eating well and sleeps all night.

She only weighs 33 pounds at 5 months of age and is being fed 3 times a day to increase her weight. She is let outside often so we haven’t had any accidents in the house for quite some time. But she doesn’t know how to signal that she needs to go outside. Today she learned to sit!

She is up to date on all vaccinations, is heartworm negative and has no organisms in her stool. She will be spayed and microchipped on November 5.

Sabrina (Betsy) is from a large breeding facility and has behaviors related to spending all of her life in a cage and having very little human contact. She chews on her crate, the toy box, sticks, and furniture which is probably a result of living her life in a cage.

She bucked like a wild mustang when we attempted to put a leash on her. So we have been putting a leash on and letting her run around the yard to get used to it. She loves playing with the other two puppies and our resident dogs. She is not as scared around people anymore but is still skittish with new people and new sounds.

Whoever adopts this sweet girl will need to be patient as she learns how to adapt to being a companion dog who lives in a house. Plus she has lots of puppy energy!
