Updates

It’s been way too long for an update for sweet Violet. She has been doing really well. You’d never know she has a severe heart condition. She had a full assessment at the specialist at 7 months, and while her stenosis is still severe, she’s been doing very well and there hasn’t been any progression of her condition.

Because she’s maintaining so well, we made the decision to get her settled in a forever home.

Violet was adopted by a wonderful veterinarian who is a repeat RAGOM adopter and totally a Golden Retriever person! Her family always has several dogs, and they are happy, beautifully cared for, and they get lots of opportunity to run free at her cabin in the country.

This is right up Violet’s alley! She has two fur-brothers who are 2 and 10 years old and follow her everywhere, and a 15-year-old matriarch Golden Retriever.

Violet is a pack kind of gal so she loves this busy house! Her two human siblings are off to college after the summer, so they’ll have to keep their mom occupied so she doesn’t miss the kids too much!

With Violet’s new mom being a vet, she’ll be able to keep a close eye on her condition. Please send prayers Violet’s way that she sidesteps the normal life expectancy for a dog with severe subaortic stenosis, and she lives a long life full of love.

This sweet girl has a heart condition, but it’s our hearts that have been touched so deeply by her. Her new mom is really good about sending updates, so we get to watch her antics and still get to be a part of her life. Please join me in congratulating the family for adopting precious Violet, and in wishing Violet the very, very best!
