Profile

Morgan was lovingly surrendered to RAGOM when his owner entered a nursing home. He is a healthy boy who adjusted quickly to many changes. Morgan can live with other dogs and does not resource guard. He takes time to warm up to some people, men in particular, and because of this behavior children in his home should be age 10+. Morgan needs a physical fence to keep him safe. Because he can only handle one or two steps, his forever home should not require that he navigate any stairs.

Morgan has been adopted!

Morgan came to me when he was recovering from a parasite recently and said, “Foster Mom, times have been ruff. I haven’t been feeling good and you have taken such good care of me. Could I just stay with you forever?”

Talking with Morgan that day was a real eye opener. We celebrated with a little hair of the dog for me and a peanut butter Kong for Morgan.

I’m proud to say Morgan has found his forever home with me, his foster. Morgan also has a sister fur butt, Gracie. Morgan calls her Amazing Grace but she thinks he’s amazing.

Just a quick update for Morgan: This boy will only go up or down one or two steps and will refuse to do any more. So a home that doesn't require Morgan to use stairs indoors or to exit/enter the house would be best for him.

Hi All,

Morgan here... Just an update on my status. Foster mom is letting me take the reins of the computer first. The last few weeks have been "ruff." I have been terrified of all the thunder boomers, lightning, and fireworks. I don't care that foster mom says they can't hurt me—I still feel they can.

I've had a lot of company lately. Over the 4th we had Kona (she is St. Bernard/Lab/Boxer) stay with us while her family went to the Black Hills. She was fun but wore me out. Guess what... she was trying to hug me all the time. I didn't really like that. She was afraid of the fireworks, too, and was sleeping with foster mom.

We also had Marco and his baby brother Elliot Conner over on the 4th. Elliot is 4 months old and Marco is 5 years old. They are both Goldens, my type of dogs. Marco is afraid of fireworks, too. Elliot didn't even wake up during the noise.

I get along fine with all dogs. But honestly, please make those loud noises stop.

My friend Dexter, who would spend the nights for slumber parties, went to the Rainbow Bridge. I miss him being my friend at night and breakfast partner in the morning. I also miss all the great treats he would get because he wasn't a good eater like I am.

Gotta go.  Foster mom wants on the computer now.

As you can see Morgan is terrified of thunder, lightning, and fireworks and last night, rail cars bumping one another on the tracks. I've been medicating with Benedryl when I can catch it in time. Otherwise he pants and paces constantly.

Prior to his friend Dexter passing away we went to stay at Dexter's home with him. Morgan did not do well; he panted and paced from 5:00 pm till 3:00 am. At that time I packed the pups and myself back up and took them home. It was not a good night so he was totally out of his comfort zone. Once we returned home he laid down and slept like an angel.

He does have anxieties and we have very loud children who live two homes over who are screaming and yelling and crying constantly outside. Morgan does not like that; it makes him very nervous.

Other than that, I have nothing new to report. He loves to be brushed and he is definitely shedding tons of hair. He has anxieties and he gets along with other pups, but he prefers a quieter atmosphere without children and loud noises.

Greetings from Grand Forks! This is Morgan once again.

Boy, I've had so much going on lately I haven't had the time to write. First of all, there's my friend Dexter spends the night and sometimes vacations with me. He's a lazy older Golden who doesn't like to play much, but we are companions. My foster mom always has to tell me "Morgan, NO HUGGING"...

I had a sleepover with my friend Marco, and Dexter was also staying here. I was so darned tired after a night of fun and games that I slept the whole next day.

We found out I have something called storm anxiety—I get really scared when it thunders outside. My foster mom tried to tell me it was just a loud car, but who does she think she's fooling? I'm smarter than that!

So when that happened my foster mom put a really tight t-shirt on me. I really liked the t-shirt so she let me wear it for about a week. Then she let me have another one she found that's cute, too. I kind of feel like a sausage in the t-shirt but it helps. I pant and pace and shake because I get really scared.

I've been spending a lot of time in the yard with my foster mom. We've been digging in the flowers and pulling weeds and doing all kinds of stuff. Then in the blink of the eye I will see a bunny—boy those things are really fast!—if I could only catch one… or two or three. My foster mom would be really grateful.

We've also been going for a few short walks, although I'm not very good at walking on a leash. My foster mom is working with me, but there is a lot of stuff to see outside of the fenced-in yard. Sometimes I feel like I'm in a prison. Ha ha, not really! My foster mom is pretty cool and we have treats and fun.

Hi, I'm Morgan and I have storm anxiety. My foster mom says she thinks I should attend a support group. We had our first rain shower with thunder and lightning. It scared me so I paced and paced and paced until my foster mom got up and sat in her chair in the living room. Then I laid down, too.

My friend Dexter was spending the night because his daddy works nights and Dexter doesn't like to be alone. So we have slumber parties and Dexter slept through the whole storm and snored.

I don't have much to tell you other than my foster mom has some guys working in the house. I like one of them, but I don't like the other one. If he comes by me I will bark. I have a very big, mean bark so I tell the paper guy every morning to stay away or I will get him. Maybe that's why my foster mom calls the Herald once a week because she doesn't get her newspaper. Hmmm..

It's muddy outside and I like to find the softest part of the yard to walk in and then have my foster mom chase me around the kitchen table before I get my feet wiped off. She doesn't like when I do that… She told me once it dries up we are starting a walking club, just her and me. I can't wait!

Well, that's all I have for now. Just watching the river here in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Greetings from Grand Forks, North Dakota!

I’m Morgan and I’m 9 years old. I like to go outside a lot, sit on the deck, and listen to snow plows. And did I say snow plows? Yikes, it’s been quite a winter. My foster dad blows paths for me in the back yard so I don’t have to trudge through the snow.

I came into RAGOM in February when my mom had to go into the nursing home. So this nice lady (Foster Mom) took me in. I paced for a couple days, but now I’m teaching her all the things I like. I don’t bark much, but I did bark in her ear the other day because she wouldn’t pay attention to me.

I went to daycare and had a haircut. I look so great and daycare was so fun! I slept for two days straight. Foster Mom said I can go again since I had so much fun. I got an A+ at daycare, and they said I’m really nice but I like to “hug” other dogs.

Foster Mom says I can’t be hugging, but I love everyone! Well, except men—I don’t really like men. They scare me until I get to know them. Oh, and Foster Mom’s sister-in-law—I’m not a fan of her. I barked and growled at her yesterday. Foster Mom says she’s not a fan either.

We’ve had a lot of company in the last couple weeks, and I mean a LOT, and I’ve been good as gold.

Well, gotta run but I’ll write more later!
