Nugget found his forever home in late April. He is very excited to see what his new life has in store, and has also made a quick friend with the resident cat! He is already cuddling up to his new owner and becoming a part of the family. Safe to say he is loving life!

Hi! It’s me, Nugget!

I am a sweet, purebred English Cream Golden Retriever and I love any and all attention! Over the past weeks I’ve been loving life with my foster mom. It’s been great here getting to play with new toys and explore the neighborhood.

I came into RAGOM from living with a family so I am house trained. I ask to go to the bathroom outside and am not destructive of toys that are not mine. I have free roam of the house, and usually sleep on the couch or hardwood floor. Foster mom has only heard me bark a few times when I get very excited, and it’s just a few quick barks to show my excitement!

My trip to the vet went great—I loved the car ride, too. Everyone kept telling me what a good boy I am. I loved every minute of it (especially all the treats!) and more importantly showed no aggression when they were working with my legs, mouth, paws, etc.

I was embarrassed when I stepped on the scale. They told me I am a little overweight right now, but with a good diet and exercise I should be able to drop some pounds.

I have mild entropion in my right eye—the lid is mildly curved in, making my eye tear more on that side, which stains my fur a little. It doesn’t hurt and should not cause problems or require medications down the road. But if my forever family doesn’t like the slight discoloration, the entropion could be fixed, like cosmetic surgery!

My days usually consist of a couple walks, playing with toys, and some long naps. I love playing with bones, tugs, and especially my purple football.  I am always ready to play, but will give my foster mom a break if I realize she’s busy.

When we go for walks I wear a Gentle Leader and I am learning not to pull. I’ve made good progress and usually don’t pull unless I see something exciting like another dog—I just love meeting new friends! I get along great with other dogs.

I also love to be brushed and groomed. At the end of the day, my favorite thing to do is to lay next to my foster mom and have my head scratched. It’s so relaxing it puts me right to sleep.

My foster mom tells me all the time how sweet I am and how I’m such a good boy. I can’t wait to find my forever home!

Time for some R&R,
Nugget
