Profile

Goldie came to RAGOM from a shelter in Sioux Falls, SD. Goldie is a healthy dog who is gradually adjusting to the upheaval in her life. Since she can be skittish and fearful, she needs a home with no children or children age 10+. She can live with other dogs but should not go to a home with small animals due to her chase instinct. A physical fence is required. Goldie is looking for a calm home where she can learn to feel safe and secure.

Last night she alerted us with a bark that she needed to go outside to potty. What a very good girl!

She’s coming out of her shell. In fact, when she walked into the groomers she didn’t get on her tummy as she tends to do for a new experience. She’s a really sweet girl and seems mature for 2 years old. She will make a fabulous addition to her furever family.

Welcome to RAGOM, Goldie. We’re so glad you’re here!

Goldie was surrendered to the Sioux Falls Humane Society when her owner could no longer care for her, and from there she found her way into RAGOM. She’s 2 years old and very sweet. But she is incredibly submissive and crawls on her belly, retreats into a corner, and rolls on her back until she realizes she’s in a safe situation.

Her first day at her foster’s house started out pretty scary although the car ride there went well. She was welcomed by three other Golden Retrievers and as they became acquainted, she relaxed some. She immediately claimed the kennel as her safe place and now sleeps there through the night.

She ate her supper, did her pottying outside, and has the makings of a perfect dog. She’s getting more secure and will be introduced to the real world gradually.

Because Goldie is timid and scares easily, she needs a home with no children or with children aged 10 or older. Loud voices and younger childrens’ quick movements could make her nervous.
