Lucky little Roo got adopted by an awesome family. They will be keeping her nickname of Junebug... how cute is that? She also has a 2-year-old Golden brother by the name of Hank to boss around! She is dearly loved, and we miss her, but know she will have a wonderful life!

Oh my god, I am totally in love. Little Miss Roo has definitely earned her nickname, Junebug, because she is as cute as a bug in a rug!
Roo came to us in June as a stowaway from an auction. She wasn’t initially supposed to be coming into RAGOM's care, but when nobody wanted to purchase her to be used as a breeding dog because she has a short tail, RAGOM stepped up to the plate and brought her north. We are so happy for her little tail!
Roo is about as sweet as they come. Apparently, the breeder that had her was trying to breed their Goldens to be smaller in size, thus Roo has a thinner, longer face and more perky ears than most Golden puppies.
She also didn’t appear to be well nourished when she arrived, so she wasn’t the usual rolly-polly puppy you would expect. However, we have managed to change that, and she now weighs in at almost 30 pounds, but is very long and lean.
Roo Roo came in with worms and has since been treated for that. Luckily, she was healthy otherwise, albeit very stinky and had several baths her first couple days with us, so she now smells like a daisy! She is up to date on all her vaccines, has been microchipped, and is scheduled to be spayed next week.
We are not sure of the cause, whether genetic or accident, but as mentioned previously, Roo has a shorter tail. Most tails taper to a narrower end but not Roo's; hers ends very abruptly. She is starting to get a few curls on it, so I think she will eventually have the usual feathering that Goldens are known for, but hers will be a little unique.
Our house is very busy with 5 Goldens of our own, plus another Golden foster dog, and four cats. Roo gets along with all of them. While Roo is very social, she still takes many of her cues from the other dogs, so I think it’s best for her to have another dog in her forever home.
I also think that kids would be okay for her, but she is still very much a puppy and while she is usually pretty well-behaved, she does do some puppy biting and jumping, so children over the age of five would be the best for her.
One of Roo's favorite things to do is to hoard things. We often find missing articles of clothing or shoes in her kennel. Thus far, only one shoe has been deemed unfit for further wear!
She also loves, loves, loves to play fetch and often has a ball in her mouth. She is definitely Golden Retriever!
I would say that Roo Roo is 95% potty trained. She will have an occasional accident if we don’t put her outside quickly enough, or if it’s been too long between potty breaks. She loves to play outside in our fenced-in backyard with the other dogs, but when we take her out the front, she does well, too.
That being said, I think that a fenced yard is always desirable, but as long as she has direct supervision while outside, a fenced yard is then optional.
While Roo Roo isn’t perfect (what puppy is?), she will need to learn good doggy manners. She does get the zoomies and since she is growing, she has learned that sneaking treats off the counter does reap good rewards, but Foster Mom's ire!
She will definitely make the right family very happy, and I am also dreading when she leaves to her forever home!
