Rex was adopted to a very wonderful couple who have adopted from RAGOM before. Rex has hit the jackpot for a furever home and his new humans have hit the jackpot with Rex.
He has a Siberian Husky for a brother and will have a lot of Jim and Margie's grandkids to play with. They are always going for walks and they go on many, many car rides. We will miss you terribly Rex, but you are right where you are meant to be.

It's Rex here. Checking in on the new year. It certainly will be a new year for me.
I have been doing really well since I had all of my medical issues taken care of. I didn't know what I was missing until I felt much better after spending a night at the good doctor’s office and having my nails trimmed so I could walk better, my very bad ear infection and infected teeth taken care of, and my neuter. Whew! That is a lot of stuff, but I really do feel like a new boy.
Even though I was an only dog for so long I have discovered that I LOVE to play with resident boy Bubba. We play and play. Foster mom has decided that I really do need to go with another dog since I used to be an only dog and because of how much I like to play with Bubba.
Since I follow Foster Mom around all of the time (she thinks it's because I really like her, which I do, but I really like all of the pets and loving I get from her), she says that I need to go to a home where someone is not gone long hours and are home more than they are gone.
I'm doing well on my walking and my learning to sit and wait before I dive into my breakfast and supper. I now have "sit" down really well. I hope your new year goes as well as I know mine will be.
Well, I'm off to play with my friend Bubba. See ya.

Hi! My name is Rex. I am 9 years young. Let me tell you about myself. I was surrendered to RAGOM because my owner was gone 12 or more hours a day. That is no life for any pupper.
My trip started in Minnesota and ended in Iowa via three sets of very wonderful humans. I got to my foster home and met the four resident dogs with no problem. I even met some smaller four-legged animals (cats) that us puppers are not supposed to get along with but I had no problems with them.
I was only here a day and a half and then I went to see the good doctor. He did a huge check-over of me and told my foster mom and foster dad that I had some things that needed to be taken care of. One was my nails needed to be cut so I could walk better, my right ear had a very bad yeast infection, and I had some very badly infected teeth.
Well, two days later I was whisked back to the good doctor’s office to spend the night and first thing the next morning my manhood was taken away (what's with that?). I had six very infected teeth removed and they again cleaned out my infected ear. All the people at the good doctors were really nice and I really liked them. I was sent home with some ear meds and it is really good now.
I went home the afternoon that I had all of these things done. I sure was a little loopy that night and the next day. I also had this weird soft thing on my head for some reason. Foster Mom just kept telling me that I had to wear it and that it would not be long before she could take it off. For two weeks I got to eat canned dog food with very softened kibble in it. I really liked that.
When I got that thing off of my head, you would not know that I was the same pupper that had arrived at my foster home. I was a different boy. I had lots of energy and really played with resident boy Bubba. I love playing with him. He is the same age as me, and you would never know we are both 9 if you saw us. I felt so much better after I had those things fixed that were bothering me.
I have had a couple of baths since I arrived and I did a good job of letting Foster Dad bathe me. I walk pretty well on a leash, but I do wander from side to side just checking everything out. I come to my name, I have learned “no,” “ack” (which also means “no”), but I had no idea what “sit” was. But I'm here to tell you that with much work, I now know what that means.
Foster mom and dad are pretty proud of me and I have to tell you that I am proud of me, too. (He he) Also I have learned to "sit and wait" before I dive into my food. (This is where I learned "no" and "ack.") Who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks? I will also give you my paw if you ask me to shake.
I am told all of the time that I am just the bestest and sweetest boy. I really am a sweetheart if I do say so myself. I follow foster mom everywhere. She is never out of my sight. She thinks it is because I know that she helped me feel so much better.
If you want all of the lovin' you can stand, then I am the pupper for you and would really like to meet you and show you that I am just the sweetest.
