Kassie was welcomed with open arms and paws to her adoptive family on Sunday March 1, 2020. She will have a RAGOM sister, adopted April 2019, to play and sleep with and enjoy the rest of her golden life in Iowa as a Hawkeye!

Kassie continues to make herself right at home and is very comfortable being a part of her foster family. She has really shown to be very flexible and a quick learner. She has actually begun to take on a small teaching role with my resident dogs.
Kassie is very active when she is outside and extremely calm in the house. She is comfortable in her bed, in my bed and in her kennel. She has many options and takes advantage of them so she can be near you.
She is truly a very gentle soul. She gently gives you her paw or sits and brings up both legs to barely touch you. In getting to know and understand Kassie over these past 4 weeks, I can recommend her for many adoptors-- a family with or without children, a couple wanting a second dog that promises not to be overpowering or maybe a senior that would just love the addition of another dog. Kassie is that adaptable.
This past week Kassie has enjoyed going for rides and jumps right into the backseat. She waits calmly for me to return after my shopping which has taken 15-20 minutes. I am continuing to lengthen the time so she can get used to being in the car by herself or with one of my resident boys. So far so good.
She is also making progress walking on a leash. It's hard to believe that dogs don't know how to walk with a leash and yet really exciting to see them learn these things.
I know that Kassie will not disappoint the family that decides to give her a forever home. She appears to be a kind of dog that is always grateful and I know has lots of love to give.

Kassie has been in the Bold North for 3 weeks and has adjusted beyond well. She is very comfortable and playful with her resident brothers and resident cat.
She was spayed 10 days ago and has now resumed playing in the yard. She lets me know when she needs to go outside and has not had any accidents in the house. She is very quick to learn new ways of doing things and truly wants to please you. I think she would like to be a lap dog.
Kassie has stayed in a room with a baby gate for 8 hours a couple of times a week and there have been no issues. She is happy to get out but will go right back in when it's time to eat. She does not hesitate to go into a place where she may have to stay for awhile.
She loves to play with the resident dogs and with people. She understands tug-of-war and releases the item without any problems.
Kassie has also graduated to sleeping in bed with foster mom and her two resident buddies. It gets a little tight but she loves it. Most nights she sleeps throughout the night and is ready to go outside as soon as her paws hit the floor.
Kassie is ready to meet her forever family. She will stick to you like glue if that's what you want or will go lie in her bed and wait until she's called or there is commotion in the house. So that is up to you.

Kassie is a 2-year-old Golden Retriever that found her way to Minnesota just in time for the near zero degree days. She has embraced the Bold North well. Kassie loves to roll in the snow for up to 10 minutes. Perhaps it feels like a massage! She is also a moderately energetic girl. To expend her energy, she loves running with her two resident buddies in a fenced yard (both a resident dog and a fence is required).
Kassie arrived with hookworms, roundworms, and ear mites, which have all been treated. She has recently been spayed. She was very comfortable with the vet once she decided it was safe to enter the building.
She is quickly gaining trust to try new things but will be shy until comfortable. Patience will be important until Kassie is used to a new home and all its activities. Children in the family must be at least 10 years old; Kassie would be easily frightened by the quick movements of youngsters.
She is such a sweet girl with a calm temperament. She is a bit on the petite size chart but holds her own with her two big resident dog buddies. They have all adapted to each other without any problems. There has been no guarding of food, toys, bones or dog beds. Very nice sharing being exhibited.
Kassie is not thrilled with a crate, but once in it, calms down fairly quickly. When I have gone to work, I have chosen to let her stay in the laundry room with a baby gate so she can still see what's going on and that has worked quite nicely for her.
Due to the ice, Kassie has been getting used to walking with a leash in the house. She hangs behind but is getting the idea. There has been no evidence of counter surfing but se does like a quick jump on the bed. I think she may enjoy sleeping with her new family in your bed or her own.
She absolutely LOVES attention and has a lot of love to give and never tires of showing you. A great forever home will be one that wants to include her in their day-to-day life. A confident dog companion is required. She is cat tested and is not interested -- a bonus for a cat loving family!
