Katie has been adopted. She now has her own house, fenced yard, and mom as well as a furry canine friend. Her new mom works part-time so she won't be alone too much either.
I hear there's a nearby pond and since Katie is a very typical Golden, I wish her new mom luck in keeping her out of trouble. It was hard to say goodbye as she is just the perfect dog.

Katie's been here a while. She is a keeper, no doubt about it, someone is going to score big when they adopt her. She walks like a dream, she's playful, she enjoys company but isn't too pushy....she's just a super nice girl.
We dog sat a 4 month old puppy and she likes puppies too. I can't tell how she would be as an only dog and lately, I have no good way to determine how she does home alone, because someone is always home these days. I'll update more later as our COVID-19 quarantine continues.

Katie has been here a while now and we have learned a lot about her. She loves to chew on toys. She is a maniac and has wrecked a couple of toys from the Bark Box Aggressive Chewer selection, which to me is quite impressive. She does not guard them from either the other dogs or from me so it's easy to remove the remnants from her mouth. She doesn't seem to swallow the pieces/parts but she certainly does enjoy wrecking them.
She is very easy to work with and has allowed me to trim the hair on her feet as well as trim her long nails. She enjoyed the one on one attention. She was very charming with the vet and the techs too. She also loves the college boys that live next door to us and has no problem shamelessly begging for their attention if they go out of their back door when she's out in the yard.
She does need to be kenneled while the humans are gone or she will pee. She likes rugs. She's fine as long as she's kenneled. Her surrendering owner said he kenneled her for his 12 hour work days and I suspect that's why he did that.
She is a total sweet heart and just loves to be around her people.

Katie is an adorable 7-year-old Golden Retriever. She is spayed, up to date on shots, microchipped, and currently pending on results for heartworm and fecal. She is a good weight and her vet exam showed no issues. She is great with other dogs and with all people, young and old. She ignores cats and even the resident parakeet.
Katie was given to the surrendering owner by an elderly couple who had gotten her from a breeder to be trained as a service dog. This did not work out, as they said Katie was too timid to be a service dog.
The surrendering owner said she has some fears of loud noise or unexpected noises, although we live in a very busy part of town and have not noticed any fears.
Katie came to RAGOM as her owner works 12 hours a day and she was kenneled that whole time. She is your stereotypical Golden and charms everyone she meets. She's looking for a home with folks who want to spend time with her and enjoy her personality.
