Carrot was rescued from an auction of breeding dogs and is now enjoying her new life as a family companion. Though she adores humans, Carrot needs a home with children older than 10 because loud noises and quick movements startle her. A confident resident dog will be crucial to help her with confidence building. Carrot has a strong prey drive, so she will require a physical fence for her safety and no cats in the home. Like all young dogs, she would benefit from regular exercise and continued training.

Our special foster, Carrot, was adopted today! She will love her new family and Golden brothers, and they will love her just as much!

She made so much progress in her time with us. It was amazing watching her conquer her fears of all the new things in her life. She learned so much from watching her foster siblings.

She will always hold a special place in our hearts. We know she's in good hands!

Carrot has fully recovered from her second surgery, and all is well! She was cleared for normal activity and loves being back on the pack walks. She has a healthy appetite and has put most of her weight back on now.

Carrot had an opportunity to run off leash in a fenced area recently and brought lots of smiles to Foster Mom and Dad. She loved stretching those legs. She's always game for a walk (she's quite the prancer) or an outing to the backyard, but is equally happy lounging in the house for quiet time.

She's found that the sofa is actually a really fun place to be and is quick to claim a spot before everyone else gets there. She is definitely a snuggler!

House training is going well, and there have been no more accidents since her second surgery. At this point, she just needs a regular schedule of backyard outings.

Carrot really enjoys car rides and has now overcome her fear of getting in and out of the car. There hasn't been any challenges she's not overcome with some training. She is very food-motivated!

Carrot isn't all that fond of being crated, but doesn't complain when in there. We have tested her being left out of her crate with her foster brothers while we've been out on short errands with great success.

She isn't a counter surfer and doesn't chew on things she shouldn't have. She definitely benefits from having a confident resident dog and it's absolutely adorable watching her check with them for guidance.

Puppies are great, but if you're a busy family, a two-year-old is the perfect age. She would be a great companion for the right family.

Carrot has had a challenging month, but has come through it amazingly. She'll soon be back to normal activity and is eager for that! Despite having to go through a second surgery, she has accomplished so much.

Walking up and down stairways, which used to be so scary, is now one of Carrot's favorite activities as she's got way more opportunity to explore the whole house. Foster Mom thinks maybe we've created a monster!

Despite being two years old, she's much like a puppy in the house as there is so much that's new to her. If there's a sock left out anywhere in the house, she'll find it!

The family room, which is where all the people are spending a lot of time right now, is her favorite place to be. She's never more than a few feet away, and don't you even think of trying to sneak away while she's sleeping! She is a very loving dog and seeks out attention. She's even learning how to snuggle!

Carrot's housetraining is going well. She would much prefer to go outside, but if we don't see her by the door (ahem... like when the humans fall asleep in front of the TV), she will eventually take action in the house. She can be quite stealthy, so we'll begin working with her to ring the doggy bell that's hanging on the door.

She is a quick learner and is doing well with the "sit" command with very little effort. She is also learning how to wait for the "OK" before she dives into her food bowl.

This week, we had a windy day and the blowing leaves put her on alert, which is a good reminder that there are still new things to conquer. We have no doubt this lovely lady will keep making progress. We might have to add Curious Carrot to her list of nicknames. Her curiosity makes conquering her fears much easier.

Carrot is looking for an active family that is willing to love her up and show her the Golden life!

Carrot needed surgery to correct an issue with her spay surgery. She is back home recuperating now and doing well. This little lady is a tough cookie and is expected to bounce back quickly.

Carrot came to RAGOM from a commercial breeding auction where she was one of many dogs RAGOM rescued from further breeding. She is two years old and was born in January 2018. She is petite, weighing in at 54 pounds, her ideal weight.

Carrot is a red-colored Golden with a short, soft coat. She has had a bath, which went well. She did great at her first vet appointment, but was found to have a double ear infection, which she was treated for. Her spay appointment is scheduled for March 19.

Carrot has adjusted very well to living in a home for less than two weeks. She’s a very curious dog and fairly confident after experiencing something new for the first time. It took her several days to get comfortable with the resident dogs, but she loves being a part of the pack. She will need a medium to large, confident dog in her home to support her learning process.

Carrot loves investigating and playing in the backyard. A physical fence will be required for this little lady. She has a strong prey drive and takes off at rocket speed for anything that moves, such as squirrels, rabbits, and even blowing leaves. Based on her prey drive - no cats.

She loves toys, but has a short attention span with them. She’s very friendly to all the humans she’s been in contact with and enjoys being petted. Children in the home should be 10 years or older as Carrot startles at loud noises and sudden movements.

Carrot is still learning how to walk on a short leash, but has enjoyed the short walks we’ve taken so far. She will look forward to daily walks with her forever family. She may even be a good running partner! She has not yet conquered flights of stairs, which frighten her.

She is food-motivated and has demonstrated that she catches on to training very quickly. Carrot is eating well and loves to eat her meals next to the resident dogs. She has not shown any sign of guarding either food or toys.

Carrot is adorable and will be a wonderful addition to the right family.
