Her forever family must include a medium to large confident resident dog to help Mandy continue transitioning to life as a family dog. Children in the home must be age 10 or older. A physical fence is required to help keep Mandy safe as she enjoys the outdoors.

Today our beloved Mandy girl was adopted. Here she is with her new big sister Kierra.

Mandy 20-038A

Our girl will have a huge acreage to play in: 120 acres and 2 large fenced-in areas to keep her safe, as well as beautiful trees and property and birds that Mandy will just love! And NOT the construction noise we have around us. New mom and dad are just smitten with her and much love and spoiling to be had!

We will very much miss her. Once again, you meet the BEST families through these adoptions. I love it.

Hugs and kisses Mandy girl. Have fun with your new sister!

Our lovely Golden girl is doing fantastic—more and more confidence with the things presented to her in this new, free life she has. We are taking many more walks now and she is so much fun and enjoyable to walk. Of course, we get many “lookers” as darling as she is!

She is hesitant meeting people and dogs on our walks, but we are getting there. She comes around slowly. We have some construction around with homes having their yards marked with the little flags; those are very intimidating yet. But the trucks driving by are fine!

She appears to be interested in birds (in a good way) and bunnies! So cute to watch. She and Bridger, our ‘doodle boy, have really sprung up a fun relationship. Bridger has been a great mentor and leader for her. They now run out into the backyard and do “laps” a few times. Just hilarious to watch!

They sure enjoy each other’s company. Unfortunately, they have learned to BARK together too. Tons of walkers and dogs by our home so to be expected. Perhaps much too busy. This is why having the right kind of resident dog makes such a big difference in these auction/breeder dogs. They need that, and just a lot of time.

Bridger and Mandy are now very excited to go in the “truck” with Tim, to the store or just a ride. It’s wonderful—Mandy is a very good passenger. We absolutely adore her. And yes, she gets lots of pets and welcome kisses on her nose!

Finally, a new update on our Mandy girl. She had her spay and healed beautifully—so glad that one is behind us. For an “auction” girl, she has passed some big hurdles for sure. She now actually enjoys going for car (or pick-up) rides with her brother, Bridger. She even looks out the window! Plus, she jumps right in, which is amazing.

This girl loves to be outside. She plays fetch, too, and will sometimes bring the ball or toy back! Love to see her romp and run, so happy. The crew get along perfectly and run up and down when other walkers and their dogs go by; Mandy chimes right in!

The first snow was a little “odd” and then she discovered how much fun it really is. She rolled around in it and it felt so good on her tummy after her spay to have the cool snow on the wound area.

I captured a photo of her watching “animal planet” and very seriously listening to the puppies whine and talk. Was the cutest thing ever to watch. A true mommy she is indeed. Same with her stuffed babies she carries around.

She does enjoy a good Nylabone or hard real bone. We are learning a tiny bit how to sit for a treat. She truly has that soft Golden mouth. The three dogs each eat just fine together. Everybody mindful of the other guy; the dogs have about a 4-foot space or so between them. The crew is fed in the early morning and at 6:00 or so for supper.

Mandy is a true dream to walk. We use a harness and she prefers that to a collar and leash. A few subtle things like small flags for construction blowing in the wind or loud construction trucks going by spook her a little. She keeps a very nice pace and I’m proud of her walking so nicely.

I work only part-time, 3 - 4 hours at the most, and I have the rest of the day to spoil the babes! It would be great in a new home if someone is home a good chunk of the time. A good fence to enjoy the great outdoors would be nice! She is in great health. More to come later.

Another favorite toy.

Our Mandy girl is doing so well. As you can see in the recent photos, she lays quietly with our "bossy" Corgi and the two of them are just fine. She really enjoys having Bridger, our 1.5-year-old Goldendoodle (black and white). Much more her speed than a short Corgi!

Mandy so loves the outdoors and carries lots of toys out—bones, Kongs, stuffed animals—so much fun to see her romp around. Now we are beginning to see playful interaction with Bridger. She just does not know how to play yet. Loves to play fetch and yes, brings it back!  So much enjoyment. Love to watch her run free and lay calmly in the sun, watching the world go by.

She is doing better and better on the walk. There are still sudden noises and movements that she gets excited about. This is something that will improve with experience and gentle guidance. I have her walk with a harness and she adapted to it well. I think just a collar makes her more resistant. She does pretty darn good staying on my left side. She does truly love the walk.

She is thinking being brushed isn't so bad and will have a second bath and groom this Friday as next week Wednesday (March 18) is her spay. Another amazing feat we have accomplished is that she has free roam while we are gone.

She showed more depression while in her crate after so long, and so I gave free roam a shot. Well, it has been just great. I only work 3.5 hours in the morning. The troops do well and she is very mellow—but do not leave your slippers out!

I’m working very hard with her and with lots of patience she is really blossoming into an "unused breeder" dog! Did I say she loves kisses on her snout? Oh yeah!

Mandy 20-038A

These former breeder dogs just need time and patience and lovin’ to build some confidence. They are all so different. Some, of course, are more challenging and need more work for much longer.

This time around we got lucky to get such a sweetie who was not so shut down and fearful. Please, you can help. SPONSOR one of these darlings! (Every dog has a red SPONSOR button on his or her page.) We need this support to continue our rescue mission for these former breeding Goldens!

Mandy came to RAGOM from a commercial breeding auction where she was one of many dogs RAGOM rescued from further breeding. Mandy was born in July 2015 and is almost 5 years old. She is very petite weighing only 45 pounds—a goal weight for her is about 50 pounds.

She is a very light golden color with a very soft coat. She has been to the first vet wellness check now. Mandy did quite well at the visit. Her upcoming spay is in a couple weeks. She also had her first bath and grooming and did very well. Man, did she need it!

Mandy has adjusted amazingly well to us, our resident dogs and cat, and our home. She’s very polite. Mandy enjoys being outside in the fenced yard, which will be required in her forever home.

Mandy will need another large to medium confident dog in her home to act as a role model so she continues to learn about life outside the breeding environment. Because she isn’t accustomed to lots of activity from little humans, children in her home should be aged 10 or older.

We have fostered other “auction dogs” before and I am so amazed, coming from their breeding situation, how they can be so accepting of us and what we try to do to comfort them. Such a huge change for them. So very heartwarming and fun to foster.

Mandy is one beautiful little girl and we adore her!
