We are happy to report that Marty found his furever home with a loving family. He now has an older furry brother to teach him more of the Golden lifestyle, and a teenage non-furry brother and sister to love and train him too.
Marty is already enamored with his new mom and dad and softly stares at them with appreciation and affection when they lie next to him to pet his sweet head. Marty has won the lottery!
He now lives in a beautiful home complete with large fenced-in yard and lots of furry neighbors to make friends with through the fence! He already has shown how he can stretch his legs and run real fast to retrieve the balls and discs. There could be no happier ending (or starting) for this brave little boy!
Thank you to the wonderful, wonderful people at RAGOM, his amazing foster dad and furry foster sister, for changing Marty’s life from a cage to pure bliss and freedom! You all do such wonderful work.

Hello again, everybody! It’s me, Marty! I had a really busy week and I want to tell you about it.
Monday started with me taking Bob Barker’s advice and getting neutered. I also had two teeth pulled out that were damaged from my chewing on my kennel bars due to boredom in my old life.
I was really brave and had very kind nurses and doctors at the vet who all thought I was very handsome and extremely well behaved. Even better, I didn’t get car sick on either ride!
This week was filled with lots of other firsts for me. I got to go on several long walks around the neighborhood and learn about things like moving cars, squirrels, and neighbors. I noticed all of them, but they didn’t really bother me much.
I still am a little unsure of some of these new things, so I stick right next to my foster dad and adoringly stare at him to make sure I’m doing the walking right. He keeps telling me I’ve come a long way in only three weeks.
I also dominated the bed all week. This big, fun thing is my safe place now, and I’m so comfortable at night when I stretch out as wide as I can possibly get. I think having lots of room on a bed will be good for me in my forever home.
I am learning how to cuddle a little bit, too! I still hardly move a muscle all night long, but I do like to lick my paws loudly sometimes. It means I’m thirsty and someone needs to get the king a drink!
I’m engaging a little more with my foster sister. She’s sweet, but we mainly leave each other alone. We both kind of like our independence, so we don’t get into each other’s face much. For now, I like this, but we will see as my personality continues to develop and I meet more dogs how much interaction I prefer.
I got to run and run and run in the backyard, and I just love it. I didn’t know how much fun a game of fetch can be, and I learned right away that if I bring the ball back, I get lots of love and pets. It’s a terrific game; you should try it with me! I want to play it all day.
I think for my forever home, we should have a very large, fenced-in backyard to play this game. I love the outdoors and really need a space to spread my big legs. I’m pretty fast and love to zip around and play chase. Walks are great, but I want to run. If you like to run, I probably would be a good partner for a mile or two.
I’ve been talking things over with my foster dad. In addition to a nice yard, I really want to have a confident dog who is 3 to 8 years old my furever home. One of the goals is to make sure that I have a dog who will be around for a few years to be a good role model for me and show me the way.
I don’t know about cats just yet, as I haven’t seen any, so I’m not really sure if I would chase them down or not. Also, I prefer to have a fun but quieter home.
Okay, my friends and future forever family, it’s time to get up and take a nap outside! Be safe and healthy. I'm looking forward to meeting you someday!
Your big, loveable friend,
Marty Moose

Look out, world! My name is Marty, and I am a very handsome, very blonde, 4-year-old, 75-pound Golden Retriever boy!
I lived at a commercial breeding facility in Oklahoma for my first four years of life. My beautiful friends at RAGOM rescued me from a dog auction, and I’m thrilled to be learning about my new life and journey in Minnesota.
The first week at my loving foster home was pretty scary, but I showed them right away how mild, mellow, and affectionate I can be. I wanted to be left alone in a quiet and safe space for a couple of days, and then I slowly crept out to lay outside the room where my foster family gathers.
My favorite thing to do now is to be where the action is, but I stay in one spot where I can observe and nap. I don’t bark or get bothered by really anything. My motto is: “Why stand when you can sit, and why sit when there is room to lay down.”
During my first week, I got my very first bath; my first pet behind the ears; and my first meal of soft, delicious food. I learned that there are things like grass and snow and sunshine to play in. I never knew any of these things before now. I also have heard rumors that toys, treats, and bones are good things to have, but I’ve never had those before in my life, so I am cautious.
Would you believe I never bark? I take the day as it comes and I am finally learning ways to show the love and affection I’ve stored up for over four years. All I really want is for a family to love me, pet me, play with me, and keep me safe so I can show them all the ways I will love you back.
I went to this really nice place called the vet last week and I was such a brave boy, even though they found some worms and a little infection, and we made a surgery date for next week to make sure my breeding days are over forever. The sweet vet lady fell in love with me and told me I will be all healed from everything in just a few week
I have gotten carsick twice because, well, I’ve never been in a car before. However, I have not had one single accident in the house because I just know where big smart boys like me do their business. I am a leg lifter, however, and I’m pretty proud of it.
Last night, I found out about this really cool new thing called a bed. Who knew that such a thing even existed! Thanks to this amazing discovery, you’ll find me at the end of your bed all night long without moving a muscle or making a peep. I really think I’m in heaven when I sprawl out over the blankets.
Anyway, it's time for bed for me, as my new human and furry friends have invited me back to that heavenly spot. Please consider adopting me forever and ever if you want a sweet, mild, mellow boy who just wants to love. I’m about as low-maintenance as they come.
Bye for now,
Marty Moose
