Today sweet Flannigan went to his forever home, with a super excited mom and her resident dog. He was so excited to go today, but I think his new mom was even more excited! He is a real sweetheart and will be very loved and will enjoy his new Golden life!

Mr. Flannigan is thriving and blossoming! He is such a gentle and well-behaved sweetheart. His personality has come out, and he is a joy to have around.

He is pretty good on a leash and enjoys the sniffs and critters out on walks. He gets very excited when he sees me prepare to take him out for a walk. He definitely needs his daily walk to get out and move and explore, and would likely enjoy even more activity.

He is in great shape and can really pour on the speed when he is burning off some energy in the yard. He has bursts of energy occasionally - he likes to play with a ball or toy, and then he is done with it and resumes lounging.

He likes to sit in the sun and keep watch on the neighborhood. He will bark occasionally at activity close by, if he finds it interesting. He doesn’t all the time, just as he deems necessary. He has a powerful bark, and also likes to vocalize when excited or bored but he has not shown any aggression.

I took him on a walk with a friend whose dog is not super dog-friendly, but the two got along just fine, basically minding their own business. The other dog actually came up to Flannigan very nicely with no problems at all, which was unusual for the other dog. He also gets along fine with the neighbor’s small dog that usually gets barky with other dogs, but seems calm around Flannigan, and Flannigan appears to be looking to play.

Flanny, as I call him, sits and lays down great, but could work on the “come" command, as he seems more interested in the yard than me calling him. He likes car rides, being brushed (he has a beautiful and super soft coat), and dog treats. He eats twice daily and has started to eat all his food, instead of waiting and picking.

He sleeps on my bed now and is so good. He hops up and settles in until morning, when he will gently greet you with a nose in the face. He’ll let you know when he needs to go out by standing and waiting for you.

He is friendly with new people; although I sense a little shyness at first, very quickly you are greeted with happiness. This sweet boy is so good and a great companion. Someone will be very lucky to get this wonderful, handsome fella.

Flannigan is a gentle, healthy, happy, 3-year-old Golden Retriever/German Shepherd mix looking to be part of a family. He went to the vet today and received a glowing report. He is a handsome boy with a gorgeous, soft coat; beautiful eyes; and sparkling white teeth.

His good looks are equalled by his gentle and sweet nature. He likes to cuddle up and have a snooze on the couch, and loves being near and getting an ear rub.

Flannigan is a confident pup that likes to “talk” - vocalizing only occasionally with a growl or a whine to express his happiness and eagerness. He is non-destructive and has no resource guarding nor separation anxiety.

Due to his history of being nervous around children, Flannigan requires an adult-only home. He also needs a physical fence.

He loves walks and sometimes will fetch his ball. This sweet lad is a real gem!
