Our little man Julius has gone on to his new happy life. He came to us a shy little guy who, even though he was scared, was still curious. He put on some weight and grew some much-needed hair due to good food!
This Golden was about as perfect as a Golden could be. He loved our adoration and grew into a gentle and very sweet boy who was content to just lie around and sleep or wrestle with his foster sister.
Have a great life, Julius! Hazel will miss you but knows you are going to have a great life in your new home.

Just checking in for Julius! He has really come into his own now. He’s so gentle, chill, and very playful! This is judging from the amount of hair I get to vacuum up.
He knows his name and comes when called. Our morning is my favorite because as soon as he hears me up, he’s at my door saying good morning the only way Goldens do, the ever loving tail and wiggle butt!
Check out the pics. I love those laying on their back and using paws to hold a toy. Then there is the tug of war and my last picture is Julius with the squeaker in his mouth, making it squeak with my dog sitting there wondering how he makes that noise!

As I log this update, Mister Julius is gnawing on a Nyla bone! He’s finally taking treats!
He’s playing with gusto with my golden and generally having a good time. He’s finally in a place where he is loved and getting great food, what all pets should have!
Other milestones: He’s starting to come to his name and is potty trained.
He still is timid when calling him for attention. But, tail is wagging. Always, always, his tail is wagging. Even when it’s a stranger, his head is saying “I’m nervous“ but his tail is wagging! We are getting him as much exposure to strangers as one can living in a rural area.
I marked medium energy on the site but still now it’s low energy. I am hoping his next parent gets him motivated! He’s like me, “do I have to walk any further?” Kidding aside, he is so sweet and has a gentle soul.

An update for one very gorgeous and very sweet Julius. A friend of ours said he looks like one of those snow babies figurines!
Julius is opening up like a rose! Granted, he’s a dude, but that’s the only thing I can think of. He’s gotten a very much needed grooming and has had his fathering equipment removed/surgery.
He is still shy but will come to you for some loving. It’s almost like he’s thinking “really, I get your attention?” He isn’t real afraid of anything. The vacuum cleaner is kind of noisy but otherwise, he doesn’t shy away from anything.
He still won’t take treats from us but instead will eat them from the floor. However, he did lick peanut butter from a spoon once.
I tried giving him a raw hide and a bone and he just looked at me with those big puppy dogs eyes that said “what am I suppose to do with this?” Really kind of sad. But he’s learning it’s awfully nice to be warm, getting good food and finding a soft spot to sleep on.
He walks beautifully on leash. We no longer need to use a harness.
As you can see in one of the pictures, he is liking car rides now. Before he would just lay down, fearing where we were going, but now he looks out the window and is pretty relaxed. He hasn’t figured out he can jump yet. One step at a time!
Finally, he is maybe low to medium energy level. I am hoping as we progress he will get more excited about exercise.

Together with RAGOM, I want to introduce Julius. This gorgeous fellow is an English Cream Golden and is 5 years old. He comes to us from a commercial breeder. Consequently, he will need a home with a fenced in yard, a medium to large dog in the home to show him what it’s like to be a pet, and a family with children over the age of 10. He is set to have his ability to father removed this week.
Presently, he is a shy little guy with low energy but this will all change as he opens up to us. He is still learning to trust.
He is potty trained and gets along with our resident dogs. Right now, they just kind of respect each other’s space and are not really playing yet. However, I did find a mountain of squeakers pulled from yet to be determined toys and no one is fessing up. So not worried they fought over who took turns desqueaking the toys.
He walks great on a leash/easy walk harness and isn’t really spooked by anything. Instead he just kind of ‘listens’ to figure out what it was that made the noise.
He does have a high prey drive, so no cats, and squirrels and bunnies should be aware. He loves being outdoors and the shy act disappears. He practically ran to our neighbor to be admired and loved, yet that same person could walk in our house and the shy guy comes out. It will come because he loves being loved.
