Maddie got adopted last week! She went to a wonderful family that love her already. She got groomed for the first time and is already enjoying the Golden life with her new family. She is continuing to diet and keep active. Maddie deserves the best and she has found it with her new pack.

Another Maddie update! She is doing well after her spay yesterday. Doing lots of lounging, but still mustering up the energy to eat treats. Yesterday, the vet tech said she was “a perfect angel” and we agree! Her personality is really starting to shine and she continues to come out of her shell.
Maddie enjoyed Christmas, but still doesn’t get the point of toys, although we have seen her pick one up a time or two.
She continues to work on learning commands and is very food-motivated.
She’s doing a great job doing her business outside.
She loves going out for walks and does great on the leash.
She hasn’t met many new people because of the pandemic, but when she gets the chance, she seems to enjoy everyone she meets.

Maddie is doing well. She continues to adjust to her life outside of being a breeder girl. She continues to learn her manners in our house. She know knows the “sit” command.
She’s doing a great job going outside to do her business and happily eats from a food bowl now.
She has even picked up a toy a time or two, but still doesn’t totally get what the big deal with toys is. She still loves to shred paper, so we are careful about leaving paper items laying around.
She is becoming less shy by the day. We come into the house, and her tail is wagging and she’s excited to come out of her kennel. She has really started to like playing with her foster brothers; she even likes joining in with them at barking at passersby.
Yesterday, Maddie walked the outdoors with Foster Dad and his friends, and she did great meeting new people.
Maddie is a sweet dog that deserves a chance at a Golden Life. Do you think that she could be for you?

Maddie 20-174 has been with us for just over a week now. She is an eight-year-old Golden recently surrendered. She has spent her life having litters of puppies and is now ready to enjoy the Golden Life. Maddie is quite shy, but also very sweet.
She did not want to come out of her kennel initially when we got her, but is warming up to her foster family and doggy brothers. She now is excited to come out of the kennel when we get home. We have seen her tail wag a few times even!
She’s starting to chase her foster brothers outside in the backyard, too. We don’t know how she will do with cats. She has not been tested with cats.
There are lots of things that Maddie has never seen before, including a food bowl which she is learning to eat from.
She seems to be partially house-trained and has had a few accidents indoors.
She has not learned how to play with toys, but does seem to enjoy shredding paper.
She likes to perch at the top of the stairs and watch the commotion in the house. She is finding her voice and seems to like to bark, too.
Maddie walks great on the leash, although we haven’t gone too far yet, as she hasn’t probably had much exercise in her entire life.
Maddie will need to go to a home with a fenced-in yard, as she is a flight risk and will try to run away, especially if she gets frightened. If there are children in the home, they need to be over the age of 10. She will also need a confident resident dog to model her behavior after.
If you are interested in Maddie, you will need to be patient, but she is worth the wait.
She recently went to the veterinarian, and things went well. She had all of her vaccines. She has a wound behind her left ear that is healing appropriately. She will be spayed on December 18.
