Bella was adopted by a wonderful family in the Twin Cities and has settled right into life with her dog brother, Cooper.
Bella made great progress during her time with us in foster care. But she really started to shine when her new family and Cooper showed up to meet her! When she left with them, she jumped in the car like she had been waiting for them her whole life.
She is now enjoying her Golden life, going for long walks, playing with her stuffed toys, and even making friends with the resident CATS!
When Bella came into foster care her eyes were almost soul-less from her years as a breeder girl. It has been remarkable to see the light come back into her eyes and the wag to her tail.

Bella is making great progress in coming out of her shell! She's certainly learning from the other resident dogs. More treats mom?
When Bella first came in to RAGOM, she jammed herself into the back of the kennel and had to be coaxed out. These days she never goes in the kennel and has two favorite spots in the living room near the other dogs. This week she made her way up the stairs to the bedroom for the first time. So many firsts for this beautiful girl!
Bella would do well in a quiet home as she is still skittish from her former life as a breeder girl. Fast movements startle her, but she has learned to adapt to everyday, normal household noises such as the vacuum cleaner, music, other dogs barking, and cars driving down the driveway.
Bella is truly an easy companion to have around! She walks beautifully on a lead and so enjoys her long walks. She is 100 percent house trained.
She is learning to be playful with the other dogs and is a TAIL WAGGER!

Bella's former foster took in a special needs puppy, so she came to live with us in Wisconsin until she finds her forever home. Miss Bella has been with us for just over a week and she has really come out of her shell!
When she first came to us, she was skittish and would have to be coaxed out of the kennel. She would also bury her head in the back of the kennel when we tried to put her on a lead.
Today she rarely goes in her kennel and has learned to play with the other dogs and go for long walks on a leash. Yesterday she barked for the first time, so she's also finding her voice.
Bella is an absolutely delightful girl who is so easy to have around. She is truly a sweetheart!
She can still be timid if someone moves too fast but overall, she is just a super sweet, beautiful girl who is starting to enjoy her Golden life.

Bella is starting to get more comfortable in the house. She has started chewing some bones and laid in the middle of the living room with the resident dogs.
When she first came to us, she was having a lot of tummy troubles. I think we now have things under control. She had a lot of different worms and has been dewormed several times. I have also changed her food to a sensitive stomach formula.
She likes to stay in her crate and only comes out when I put a leash on her and walk her out. I do leave the door open all the time.
In the evening we make her come into the living room with us and close the door to the crate so she can’t get in. Sometimes these auction dogs need a little push.
Bella is very sweet and also timid. The television is interesting to her but when something moves fast it does startle her. If she sees an animal or hears one, she gets close to check it out.

Bella is a 6-year-old Golden Retriever, turning 7 years old in April. She comes to RAGOM from an auction. She has spent her whole life as a commercial breeding dog. At auction she was advertised as being pregnant and due to have Christmas puppies. Bella has been with me for several weeks now, and she is not pregnant.
She is very timid and does spook easily. She likes to hang out in her crate where she feels safe. We leave the door open so she can come out when she wants to.
Bella finds comfort in my resident dogs and looks to them for direction. She will follow them in and out of the house.
She finds her happy when I am giving attention to the other dogs and wants to get in on the petting. She gives soft kisses and takes treats nicely.
Bella likes to be outside in the snow. She even chased down a toy. She did not bring it back but that was a big step for her.
She will need a physical fence in her forever home, another medium to large dog to help show her the way, and children should be at least 13 years old. Bella likes kids but is still so afraid of their fast movements that it would be difficult for her to be comfortable with little ones running around.
