Jessi 20-145

Profile

Jessi came into RAGOM after her owner died and there was no one to care for her. Jessi is a spunky senior with a history of seizures, but so far no seizures have been seen while in foster care. Jessi can live with children and other dogs. She does not require a fence, but if no fence a tie out would be important because she likes to chase the squirrels. Jessi is a sweet, adaptable dog who needs a family who can provide her lots of love and the medical care needed by senior dogs.

Lucky Jessi was adopted today by a retired couple who lost their senior Golden to pneumonia in June of this year. Jessi's original owner died suddenly last month so she has been through recent loss as well.

In her new home Jessi, will enjoy the company of a 4 1/2 year old Golden Retriever sister. They already play and sleep together so we are happy she can live out her golden years with them.

Jessi came into our care when her owner died and there was no one to take care of her.

She is a lively 12-year-old female Golden Retriever. She is a smaller girl weighing 47 lbs. Chasing balls is her very favorite activity outside. When indoors she likes TV, snacks, and naps.

She has a couple of health issues. Per history she had seizures and was on anti-seizure medication. I don't know how long she has been off the medication, but we were told she had a seizure about 6 weeks ago. I have seen no seizure activity while in our care. We will resume the medication if needed.

We had an appointment with the vet yesterday. She is now current on all her shots and rabies vaccine. She is on heartworm and flea and tick meds. Jessi will need some dental work shortly. Her teeth need a good cleaning and some teeth may need extraction. However, she has no problem eating her food and our resident dog's expensive prescription dog food!

She adapted easily to a new home and gets along well with our 4-year-old female Golden. She is a special dog who will do well with a family willing to attend to her senior dog needs.
