Profile

Rio is a bundle of sweetness and love. He loves people and he loves pets, kisses, and cuddles more than anything else in his world. We do not know his breed, but Lab, Cattle Dog, and Border Collie, with a little Golden have been mentioned. He does not like to have his picture taken, so it's hard to see, but his markings just beautiful.

Our sweet adorable Rio has found his forever home! He has a new Mom and two big brothers. He is the only dog and is loving being showered with all of their attention.

In addition, he lives right by his very best friend, Miller, a Golden Retriever. Miller's mom and Rio's mom are great friends, so they all get to play together every day. We miss Rio, he is a very special boy, but we are so thrilled for him and his new family!

Hi Ragom friends, this is Rio. I finally let Foster Mom take my picture. I realized, I'm so handsome, it's selfish not to share!

Also, I stayed home last night, with my fur-brother Stanley, for six hours and I was perfect! Foster Mom and Dad tried to hide how excited they were, but I could tell.

I am sitting here looking at this adorable, sweet face, and I just had to write again!

We have had a great couple of weeks with Rio. He is such a sweet, loving, and obedient boy. He has gone through his neuter surgery and is doing very well. He had to wear the dreaded cone for a few days but is so good about obeying when I tell him not to lick his incision, we have taken it off.

He is ready to go out and run and play, but we are holding off for a bit longer to make sure that all is well. We have also been able to leave Rio at home, with our resident dog, without incident. We have gradually increased his time alone and he is now at three hours.

We are so proud of him! I knew he just needed to gain his confidence and work through his anxiety. He is still medicated for the time being. I hope, though, that he will eventually be able to go without daily medication.

He is a wonderful boy and so handsome!

This is one very special boy. He would be happy to have someone pet him all the time but is very obedient when we tell him to "go lay down."

He walks great on a leash, loves to play fetch, and roll in the snow. He was with us for Christmas and was such a delight! It was so fun to watch him open (with a little help) his gifts and run around squeaking his new toys.

Rio is not in the least aggressive. He is not ready to be home alone for long periods of time. His confidence is growing every day. H is currently taking meds for some anxiety, but I think that having a home and consistency will help that anxiety.

Rio will be neutered this week. He will then be fully up to date and very healthy.
