Bo 08-024

Profile

Welcome to RAGOM Bo!! Bo is a beautiful, purebred, 4 year old, neutered male Golden Retriever. Bo is a BIG boy and probably weighs 80-85lbs. What a LOVE bug! Bo was surrendered to RAGOM because of some unfortunate changes in his family's life. They were very sad to say goodbye, of course, but knew it was the best thing for Bo. It is VERY obvious that Bo was very loved, and well socialized, trained and all that good stuff. He is GREAT, GREAT, GREAT!

He is at our house in Oakdale until he can catch a ride to his permanent foster home in Duluth, although... in all honesty... he could be adopted before he makes it there! Let me tell you what I have learned about Bo today... He is AWESOME! Bo is friendly, social, housetrained, has free roam of the house, loves kids (lived with a 2 & 4 year old!), loves other dogs (gets along wonderfully with our 2 Goldens, and our Yorkie) but doesn't need them to be happy, likes cats, does not need a fence, comes when called, knows sit, shake, and down! I am probably forgetting something... he does pull a bit on the leash and begs for people food when we are eating, but those are the ONLY negative things I can possibly say about him! (All three of my dogs do those things too...hmmm...) He would probably be great with a Gentle Leader, but I don't have one that fits him just yet. So, I'll let you know how it goes when I find a XL :)

Bo does need to be brought UTD, microchipped, and given a once over by the vet. We will make that appointment tomorrow. He also is in desperate need of a grooming session. He isn't too smelly, but needs to be trimmed up... the hair in between his toes is so long he looks like he is wearing slippers (Kelly made that observation.. HAHA, so funny!), his toenails are pretty long, and he needs a good brushing. We will also take care of that tomorrow with a trip to the groomer.

Bo loves to run around the yard with our dogs. He did great on a super long walk/hike today. He really leans into you for pets, he can almost pushes you over! He is snuggler, and just about as perfect as you can get!

I will update again tomorrow! Enjoy the photos, but know... they do not do him justice... he is so GORGEOUS! I'll keep trying :)

Hello again Bo fans! BoBo has been here 24 hours now and is doing so wonderfully. What a GREAT dog :-) My husband wants to "keep him". So Bo must be doing something right! Don't get me wrong, he loves dogs, but I truly think he finds my need for 4 dogs in the house (3 plus 1 foster dog!) a bit insane. I am sure he's not alone :-) But, Bo is his buddy! Bo is his BIG buddy... We found out at the vet today that he weighs 94 lbs! WOW! The vet thinks he could stand to lose about 7-10 of those pounds. With regular exercise, which he LOVES and NEEDS, those pounds will melt right off. Other than being a tiny bit overweight he is perfect. He is now UTD, microchipped, and HW negative!

Bo is also squeaky clean. He went to the groomer today and man does he look GORGEOUS! I swear he could pass for a show dog. He has the most beautiful coat, and his tail has such long and wavy hair! I am jealous :-) The groomer said he was an old pro at the bath, trimming, and nail clipping. She commented that he will make someone a great pet! That is FOR SURE.

Speaking of that someone... Bo is meeting a family tomorrow night! (I told you he wouldn't last long!!) So, wish him luck!

Otherwise, all I can say is that he has been a perfect house guest. Very easy to have around! It took him a little while to settle in for the night last night-but you can't blame him-he had a stressful day, but after about half hour he found a dog bed in our room that he thought would be good and he was snoring away in no time! I have been trying and trying to catch a great shot of him but haven't had the best luck. Enjoy the new photos anyway! In the photo of the three dogs Bo is the big guy in the middle : ) Oh, and yes.... he is ALWAYS smiling!
