Daphne 08-220

Profile

Hi, puppy fans! Meet Daphne. She is 9 weeks old and a purebred Golden Retriever. She saw the vet today and got her puppy shots and microchip. She only weighs 8 pounds so we are going to work on putting some meat on her skinny puppy bones. Daphne seems to understand and is eating with gusto! She is very attached to the dogs she meets. It's adorable how she follows them around and as soon as they lay down, she snuggles right into their belly. I will have a picture of that for her site soon. She has had two baths--can you tell she enjoys them?

Daphne has a bit to learn about trusting people. She is scared and will run away. Tonight she finally responded to my sweet pleas and came to touch my hand. When I am holding her she snuggles right into my neck. But I have to catch her first. She is afraid of loud noises and startles at sudden movements. But hey--she was a country girl and is just now learning the sites and sounds of the city. We will be working on getting her as much experience with different things as possible since she is in the crucial socialization phase of her Golden life.

If you have been looking at the RAGOM web site and are ready for a puppy who needs training, lots of love and someone who will commit to giving her the Golden life she deserves, then inquire about Daphne.

I learned a new word today--SIT!! FM laughs now because she finds me just sitting in the kitchen staring at her. What?! That's supposed to get me a treat. She says I look pretty cute. I'm really getting used to lots of new sounds too--like the dishwasher, the vacuum cleaner and pots and pans. I don't care about that noise anymore! Skye's afraid of the vacuum cleaner but not me! I'm a big girl. I had a birthday and now I am 10 weeks old.

Well--I'm still afraid of new people. I play bashful and walk away. Once I know them for a while, then I can go to them and be snuggled. Like FM--I run right up to her when she calls my name. And my friend Amanda too.

I'm eating lots and I'll bet I am a whole lot bigger than last week. I go zooming around the back yard and sometimes skid on my chin. FM thinks that's so funny. I don't mind. I'm not even embarrassed. I just get up and keep running. I also love to dig!! Isn't that what puppies do? Oh yeah--and I'm starting to learn to 'potty' outside. Well... when I have an accident it's back by the back door. I learned how to tell foster mom when I want in--I bark really loud. But I haven't figured out I should do that to get OUT. I'm much happier in my crate now. I don't cry as long. Only about 90 seconds--then I fall asleep.

My name is Daphne--and I DO know that! Almost every time someone says 'Daphne' I come running with my ears flying back. But then I stop when I get to the human and act all shy because I'm still more comfortable with dogs than I am with people. But when foster mom picks me up, then I LOVE to snuggle! I'm starting to learn what the Golden life is. My fur foster siblings are teaching me how fun it is to be a dog!

Everyday FM shows me something new and sometimes something loud. I don't like the loud things! They scare me. But if Skye thinks the loud noise is OK, then I think maybe it is OK too. I sleep through the whole night snuggled with Skye and Scout and Foster Mom in the bed. I have not gotten this potty outside thing down yet but I'm still a baby so what do you expect?

I love to play with balls and ropes and I really love to chew on things--even chair legs! Whenever I do that FM finds me something better to chew on. I cry when I'm in my crate but it's cuz I prefer to snuggle into Scout's belly and I can't reach her from in there. I do settle down if I have something to chew on. So far I've only had to be in my crate for 2-3 hours since Amanda comes and gets me to play for the rest of the day. I hope my new family will have someone as nice as Amanda to play with me when they have to be gone.

I had to have a bath tonight because I got dirty from being in my crate. I kinda like the warm baths. Now I am really tired. So that's all for now. Catch ya later.
